FoSSNet: Building a Sustainable European Food System
A Network for Knowledge and Innovation
The European food system is facing a number of challenges, including climate change, population growth, and changes in consumer demand. These challenges are putting a strain on the system's ability to provide healthy, affordable, and sustainable food for all Europeans.
To address these challenges, a new structure is required. The EU-funded FoSSNet project aims to establish and enhance a solid and permanent pan-European network for Food System Science and Education. This network will bring together researchers, educators, and stakeholders from across Europe to work together on developing and implementing innovative solutions.
The Aims of FoSSNet
The aim of FoSSNet is twofold. First, it will establish a permanent pan-European network for Food System Science and Education. This network will provide a platform for researchers and educators to share knowledge, ideas, and best practices. It will also promote collaboration and cooperation on research and education projects.
Second, FoSSNet will develop and implement innovative solutions to the challenges facing the European food system. These solutions will be based on sound scientific research and will be tailored to the specific needs of European countries and regions.
The Vision of FoSSNet
The vision of FoSSNet is a strengthened and deepened academic network to support a new Knowledge and Innovation Community for Food System Science and Education in Europe. This community will be a driving force for change, helping to create a more sustainable, resilient, and equitable European food system.
